I Dropped My AirPods Case On The Ground

We’re sure that taking good care of your tech devices makes the cut on your priority list. Not only because it makes life more convenient, but also because they are expensive.

But even though you may take the best care, chances that it’s slipped through your fingers a couple of times are realistic.

“I dropped my AirPods case on the ground” does not mean the end of your AirPods case. Will it work after it has dropped? Will the lid be broken? Will it be damaged forever? Stick with us to get answers to what happens after you’ve dropped your case.

I Dropped My Airpods Case On The Ground

If you’ve dropped your AirPods case on the ground, you could end up damaging your case and might find that your AirPods case won’t close. This will drive you crazy and you might have the urge to toss it, but don’t just yet.

If you need to fix your AirPods case lid it’s possible, but it can be complicated if you are not familiar with tech. Even though it might be pricey, if you can’t fix it yourself then it would be best to hand it over to the pros to repair it for you.

But, if you’ve dropped your AirPods charging case on the ground and you have a protective AirPods case cover on it, then you do not need to worry at all. Our cases are robust and scratch-resistant and your precious AirPods will be absolutely safe inside them after falling.

But if you don’t have a protective case then it would depend on a few things like the surface it dropped onto. Or what height it was dropped from. Or the speed at which it hit the ground.

If the ground is carpeted, it’s unlikely to cause any damage. Also, AirPods and the case are both lightweight, so when dropped, the force at which it collides with a surface already lightens the blow.

And because the blow is minimized, it limits the possibility of the inner mechanisms of the AirPods in the charging case being moved or damaged by the impact.

But, if dropped onto concrete or tiled flooring at the speed of light, the outcome might be different. When it collides, the chances of it coming out without a scratch are slim. This is a possibility if it flies out your car window while driving. In layman’s terms, the faster it drops, the harder it falls.

Are AirPods Cases Durable?

Yes, AirPods charging cases are durable. But it’s always best to have that added protection like a protective cover for your charging case because dropping AirPods is an easy mistake to make, especially because it is small.

Also, because it is wireless, there’s no cord to catch in order to break the fall. If this happens and it falls and damages on impact, you might find it useful to know how to fix loose AirPods case.

It’s completely understandable that you’d be concerned about whether they are likely to break if they are dropped. They’re expensive, so there’s absolutely no such thing as being overprotective of your AirPods.

This is why we designed the AirPods charging case protector. So that you can take the best care of your treasured AirPods to save money and for longevity.

If you don’t have the charging case protection yet and your case breaks then knowing how to fix the broken AirPods case is super helpful

Is An AirPods Charging Case Protector Worth It?

Yes, it is. Our AirPod cases here at BURGA fit like a glove around Apple Airpod Generation 1 and 2 charging cases. It’s perfectly snug and gives it that 360-degree protection you’d want to protect your charging case if it’s accidentally dropped.

Our cases are made out of hard plastic, which is extremely hard-wearing. When fitted, the case will protect the delicate Apple Airpod Generation 1 and 2 charging case that lies beneath it.

It protects it from bumps and drops so you won’t need to know how to disassemble AirPods case to fix components inside or anything of the sort because there won’t be any damages.

All this while remaining completely scratch-free. It’s also a great way to hide those unsightly scratches your AirPods case picks up during transit. This again means you won’t need to know how to remove scratches from an AirPods case. Of course, if you haven’t gotten one of our case covers yet, it’s still worth learning.

The print designs are cool and unique, and we have no doubt that you will fall in love with some of them. What’s also great is that you can pick a matching phone case to go along with it.

What if My AirPods Case is Already Damaged and I Dropped It Again?

If the AirPods are already slightly damaged and you’ve unfortunately dropped it again, this could, unfortunately, make the situation worse.

The plastic coating should do its job and protect the internal mechanisms from damage but dropping it multiple times could mean that it can’t be repaired and would ultimately result in you having to buy yourself a new charging case. You would want to avoid this at all costs.

If you find that you drop your AirPods and AirPods case quite often, it may not be clumsiness. It could be a medical condition or it could be exhaustion. Exhaustion can affect balance and cause you to drop things.

You could try using powder for better grip on your hands. You could also perhaps invest in a pair of gloves with a rubber finish. This way you will be able to grasp the case better. You could also do finger and hand exercises.

Or buy a soft ball, squeeze it hard for a few seconds, and release. Repeat this approximately 10 times. But, if the condition is medical, you might need to see a doctor.

Whatever the cause may be, if you’ve accidentally dropped your AirPods case, do a quick check to confirm if everything is ok.

  • Check to see if there are any scratches on the case
  • Check to see if the lid opens and closes properly
  • Check to see if any dirt got inside
  • Shake to hear if anything is loose
  • Charge to see if it works

Once you have done a thorough check, you will be able to attend to damages immediately. And if you take immediate care, then it will add to the longevity of your AirPods case.

What Happens If You Drop Your AirPods And AirPods Case In Water?

AirPods are not waterproof, so if you dropped your AirPods or AirPods charging case into a pool, they more than likely will not work when you take it out. You could leave them to dry for a few days, and test it then, but there’s no guarantee here.

They do have some resistance to water though. Sweat and splashes are unlikely to do any harm. But swimming or showering with it on will. If your AirPods case stops working because it got wet inside, you’ll need to know how to fix a wet AirPods case.

If your case is wet, it won’t be able to charge your AirPods at all. This could be very inconvenient so be careful when drinking coffee, or water around your AirPods or AirPods case. Even sitting by the poolside is risky because you run the risk of it accidentally falling in there.

Conclusion

That said, it’s better to be safe than sorry. You do not want to be forking out money from your savings to fix your AirPods or AirPods case, or in a worst-case scenario, buy new ones. So fix what needs fixing, then you won't end up with useless AirPods and a useless charging case.

Also, don't just hand your AirPods case to anyone. Someone who has never had or used AirPods before probably won't know how delicate they are. And if you’ve noticed they have slippery fingers, be that person and run.

But if you have a protective case for your charging case, then there's no need to worry. Protect your AirPods charging case with the BURGA charging case protector so that you can have peace of mind.
